Lead to secure using of internet and computers!
It is not enough to use information technology, it is necessary to use it safely.
It is necessary to educate, not to prohibit.
Children need to be lead to independent decisions in every situation. Model “this is good, this is bad” is not always working. And child need to be able decide himself.
Discuss problem.
No “this is dangerous”, but “this is dangerous, because…” Monologue solve nothing, discuss with children about problems, options and experience.
Lead children to respect laws – and specially on the internet.
Because internet is free world, but “free” not means that everybody could do everything.
Support critical thinking.
Capability of evaluation and confronting is good base for independence.
Don´t stay in middle age!
Find real means of children and computer slang, respect computer software and information technologies.
Lead children to responsibility.
Teach children to understand implications of their activities and acts.
Explain differences between real and virtual world.
Both world has a lot of similar and a lot of different attributes. If children are able to differentiate them, their life in the world of information technology will be more simply.
